A Professional Manscaper’s guide to body hair grooming
Manscaping is the shaving or trimming of hair on a man, and not just on the face, baby! We’re talking all over! Chest, back, arms, legs, cock, balls, ass; wherever you have hair, manscaping is possible. For this article, licensed massage therapist & manscaper, Michael Soldier (michaelsoldierworks@yahoo.com) shares his expertise.
Why manscape?
- Manscape to get the look that you and your partner(s) like: smooth, trimmed, shaped, whatever you prefer.
- Grooming can also be practical: a trimmed dick and balls on your partner means less hair in your mouth when you're giving head!
Good ways and not so good ways to manscape:
- When working with the privates, trim carefully with clippers first (straddling a mirror can help), without pressing on the skin. Use a new, sharp, disposable razor to gently brush the area over until it’s as smooth as you want. When doing your balls, make sure to stretch the skin to avoid cutting yourself. Shaving on/around the shaft is much easier when erect.
- Using Gold Bond body powder helps lift the hair and dry up sweat and oils. Using shaving cream and hot water will increase the likelihood of a too-close shave on delicate areas prone to ingrown hairs. If you do get ingrown hairs, using a product with salicylic acid will help dry them out.
- Avoid shaving if you tend towards skin rashes or itchiness. Don’t share your razors. Shaving creates lots of tiny abrasions—allow a day's healing time after shaving to keep sex safer.
Make it sexy, or bond with your friends!
- Can’t reach to groom your ass? Ask your partner to help. You can make manscaping sexy when you help each other out.
- Or do it with your friends. It’s like getting a manicure together, just a bit more intimate.
- Still nervous? Hire a professional and get a lesson!
