Magnet is moving

Starting summer 2015, find us at 470 Castro St.

You’ll still get the best sexual health services for gay, bi and queer men in the Bay Area. But, we’ll have a new name and a new location.

Plus, our new space will allow us to offer more appointments to more people, more cultural and social events, and a new PrEP health program!

Magnet Book Club

The Magnet Book Club meets the last Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm at Magnet. The group is an informal discussion session about books by gay authors or about gay themes. Meetings are free and open to anyone who would like to join. To join the discussion online and receive updates about future meetings, join our Facebook group. Book club books are always available at Books, Inc. on Market Street in the Castro at a 15% discount for members.

It is September 1919: twenty-one-year-old Tristan Sadler takes a train from London to Norwich to deliver a package of letters to the sister of Will Bancroft, the man he fought alongside during the Great War.

But the letters are not the real reason for Tristan's visit.  He can no longer keep a secret and has finally found the courage to unburden himself of it.  As Tristan recounts the horrific details of what to him became a senseless war, he also speaks of his friendship with Will - from their first meeting on the training grounds at Aldershot to their farewell in the trenches in Northern France.  The intensity of their bond brought Tristan happiness and self-discovery as well as confusion and unbearable pain.
